Review: Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole

Title: Souls Unfractured
Series: Hades Hangmen #3
Author: Tillie Cole
Genre: Dark Contemporary Romance

"For fractured souls are like magnets. Drawn to collide into an impossible bliss…"

Labeled a ‘Cursed’ woman of Eve from birth, Maddie has endured nothing but pain and repression at the hands of The Order’s most abusive elder, Moses. Now living with her sister in The Hangmen’s secluded compound, finally, Maddie, is free. Free from the suffocating faith she no longer believes in. Free from endless years of physical and mental torment.

Just… free…

At age twenty-one, the timid and shy Maddie is content to live within the confines of her new home—safe from the outside world, safe from harm and, strangely, protected by the Hangmen’s most volatile member; the heavily pierced and tattooed, Flame.

The man who ceaselessly watches over her with his midnight dark and searing eyes. The man who protects her with a breath-taking intensity. And the man who stirs something deep within her numbed heart.

But when circumstances conspire for Flame to need HER help, Maddie bravely risks it all for the broken man who has captivated her fragile soul.

The Hangmen’s most infamous member, Flame, is ruled by one thing—anger. Plagued by haunting demons from his past, an all-consuming rage, and isolated by an abhorrent hatred of being touched, Flame's days are filled with suffocating darkness, pierced only by a single ray of light—Maddie. The shy, beautiful woman he cannot purge from his thoughts. The woman he has an overwhelming need to possess… ... the only person who has ever been able to touch him.

Flame’s mission in life is to protect Maddie, to keep her safe. Until a trigger from his troubled past sends him spiraling into madness, trapping him in the deepest recesses of his disturbed mind.

His Hangmen brothers fear that Flame is beyond saving.

His only hope of salvation: Maddie and her healing light.

Dark Contemporary Romance. Contains explicit sexual situations, violence, disturbingly sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language, and very mature topics. Recommended for age 18 years and over.

Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

***5 life and light stars***

Ever since I met Flame in previous installments I couldn’t help myself but be drawn to this aggressive hangmen who loves to cut himself and loathes everyone’s touch. The minute he lays his eyes on Maddie, (Mae’s younger sister) he couldn’t stop thinking about those green eyes and her long black hair because when Maddie touched him she was not hurt. All along book#2 we see him being fiercely protective about her, always sitting/pacing under her window and watching but never speaking to her. I’ve waited a very long time to read their story, a story of these two damaged individual and how they moved on from their tortured past to find love in the darkest place.

And it was worth a wait because I don’t remember reading anything so poignant, soul baring, and intense emotional love story in a long while. Even though I knew the premises of this story, nothing could have me prepared to actually witness Flame and Maddie’s dark past. It was sickening and immensely gut wrenching to even read the abuse they dealt with. But this disturbing scenes were very well balanced with their beautiful blooming romance and heartfelt dialogues. I don’t want to go into detail about this story but “Souls Unfractured” is one of those books which you have to experience first-hand to believe that love can heal any fractured souls.

Tillie Cole’s writing is beyond AMAZING, her words hits straight to your heart and buries deep in your mind. I think I’ve highlighted so many of their conversation that, my eyes wells up everytime I read them.

Below are some of my favorite quotes
“Words can wound. Silence can heal.”
“You, Flame. My Flame. My tortured boy. You gave me life and light.”
“That beat, that new lease of life pounding within my chest? It is his. The awakening of my heart belongs to Flame.”
“We are Flame and Maddie. And we have survived” “We have found each other, and we are never letting each other go.”
